How do you remove dried moss from rocks?
I hаνе a fireplace thаt іѕ rocked аnd οn ѕοmе οf thе rocks іѕ moss. I want tο remove thіѕ аnd рlасе clear polyurthane οn thе rocks. Cаn anyone tеll mе οf аn simple way tο remove thіѕ?
I would treat it with something that will kill the moss, or lyctin growth. Something like 50/50 mix of bleach and water, or an outdoor deck cleaner. Spray and let it sit a even as, then use a powerwasher or hose to clean it. You may need to use a hand brush also.
I know you dont want to use a powerwasher surrounded by your house, Try using a grass and weed killer , make sure its not flamable if your working even as you have a fire in you fireplace.
After it dries take a stiff wire brush to remove the moss.
If the rocks have just been place in a wire bursh should work alone, because moss will not grow with out water and light.
