How much do those small landscaping rocks cost and where can I get them?
I live іn Nevada, аnd mу backyard іѕ unfinished, іt’s јυѕt desert dirt. I’d lіkе tο fill іt іn wіth rocks, maybe thе pinkish red ones, nothing tοο nice though. Hοw much dο thеѕе cost ber bag οr per pound, аnd whеrе саn I gеt thеm fοr myself?
I see people all the time at night jacking them from someone elses yard. Just try that, its free and simple to get, just get a couple others to help you, and a truck.
The beat thing to do is call your local Rock Yard and tell them the square footage of your back yard and see how much they will charge to deliver by the truck load that would be the best and cheapest way to fill your yard because a bag of rock, the price is crasy it`s like $8.00`s a bag yes it`s 50 pounds of rock place it only fills a real small area of yard..So i hope this will help you!!!
I bought 20# bags for just under $2.40 two years ago for a flower bed and it took about 30 of them for that small space. Your yard may possibly be quite costly at that. I got mine from Home Railroad station.
You might talk to a local rock hauler and see if they have something akin and cheaper.
They range from a couple of Dollars a bag to 30 or 40 dollars a bag depending on where they came from or what they are made of. Home Railroad station or Lowe’s and just about any large garden center would have them. Mineral chips are low-priced but sharp on your bear feet, river rock is best.
Well I agree with the one person stated get some at Home Railroad station or Lowes. Most of there Rocks vary in sizes and shape. But come in bags average from $2.99 to $3.99 or even some high $5.99.
So, you can also look at some of the local Landscape Rock and
Equipment Yards. That have samples normally that will let you check, them out. So, then the next thing is get out a tape measure measure out the Length, and wideth: Now the best way
is Wideth X Length:
{Example: 20L X 50W= 1,000 sq.ft. Then if you want the material or rock spread at 2″ in thickness then mutiply X 2″ of the 1,000 Sq. Ft 2,000 then Divide by .27 Cub. Yard This way you then would need approximately 2.4 Cubic Yards of equipment plus this also depends on size of rock 1/4″,1/2″,3/4″ etc. If the rock is 3/4″
then you may need upto 3 to 4 yrds of material so bulk purchas is better. But most bags only take in 1/3 third of what bulk may take in in sq. Footage. Plus it also depends on what your financial statement will handle. So, then keep eye on sales paper comes in your local newspaper also your ancient junk mail. The springtime brings out sales. So excellent Luck.
Landscape supply stores. They have everything from river rock and pea annoy to 10 or 20 pounders and large rock. I live in Southern California but I use a lot of rock. I started using it to keep the dog from digging and the cats from responsibility their business when I place in new landscaping, and I really like the way it looks. It’s not exactly cheap, but where you live you can use rock to excellent effect and keep your water bill manageable.
