How soon can I start raking my lawn of rocks after planting grass?
Thе draftsman left a TON οf rocks. Hе planted seed аnd grass іѕ growing okay аftеr three weeks.

If you rake for rocks now, you’ll ruin your grass. If the rocks are small (say, under 1 – 2 inches), after the grass grows thick you won’t know they are there. Rocks on the surface larger than 2 inches may be felt, depending on how hard is your soil and how thick you keep your grass.
If you’re worried about the rocks, rake them up now and then reseed with a spray seed. You can have someone spray again for you.
Your other solution would be to simply lay sod over the whole thing. That would take in the rocks and give you an instant lawn. But it also costs quite a bit.
Best of luck on your new lawn!
The question is, what kind of soil did the draftsman leave behind?
Most builders will strip off the topsoil to sell for profit. Usually in a section, the acreage will be used for sod farming several years before the section goes in. This strips off all the topsoil, leave-taking the subsoil which has very small nutrients in it. Even as your grass may be sprouting now, in a couple of years, it will start to die in patches because it cannot sustain itself in the non rich subsoil. Your best bet may be to rake all the rocks out now, and apply excellent topsoil to a depth of at least 2 inches. Then reseed. Next spring, you will want to topdress the lawn with another inch of topsoil. Do this for three years in a row. You will have an brilliant lawn that can sustain itself with excellent soil.
