How bags of landscaping rocks should I get?

I want to fill my garden beds with some landscaping rocks. The total size is 1200 square feet. The bags of rocks are .5 cubic feet each. How many bags should I buy to cover 1200 square feet?

How much do those small landscaping rocks cost and where can I get them?

I live in Nevada, and my backyard is unfinished, it’s just desert dirt. I’d like to fill it in with rocks, maybe the pinkish red ones, nothing too nice though. How much do these cost ber bag or per pound, and where can I get them myself?

I want to line my garden with some nice, flat red rocks, sort of like what you would find on the flatirons in Boulder. However, when I go to home depot, they are $5/ piece. I’m hoping to line the garden for less than $25, any ideas?
Thanks for the suggestions, especially since yes, there are a lot of rocks in the Rocky Mountains? Any park names or areas by the side of the road where I can go exploring? Thank you all for the ideas.

I have 1-2 inch rocks around my lawn- we have planted plants and trees in the rock areas. Now I hear that plants and trees will not do very well, that they should be surrounded with mulch instead- is this true?

This is what happen. I have a pool in my backyard. The pervious owners broke a oval circle in the concrete to install the pool on the dirty instead of just installing it on top of the concrete. So I have a gap between the pool and the rest of the concrete. So when it rains the water just backs up in that gap instead of heading to the drains on both sides of the pool. Anyone know if I can fill that gap with rocks and hope the water will go towards the drains? If not rocks anyone have any ideas what I can do?

I live in Dallas. Next to my driveway I have 4 ft x 18 ft x 3 in of rocks that were white and decorative back in 1982. Now I’d like to get rid of all of these rocks and do something else with the area, but i’m at a loss. How can I get rid of all of these rocks without putting 30 lbs in my trash can every trash day? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
