To reinforce her status as Koga’s daughter and the most inexperienced Kanto Gym Leader, Janine’s levels are the weakest of the Region and her roster uses many of the same Pokemon as Koga’s: Crobat, two Ariados, Weezing and Venomoth. Janine’s strategy is less intricate than her father’s, although you’ll still want to bring plenty of Full Heals or Antidotes because many of her moves inflict poison as a side effect, including Weezing’s Toxic. Confusion is also common, as one Ariados knows Swagger and her Crobat knows Screech, Confuse Ray and Supersonic so that your Pokemon will inflict more damage on themselves. Venomoth is her strongest and most versatile Pokemon, knowing Psychic, Signal Beam and Sludge Bomb, although her Ariados each know Pin Missile and Poison Jab as well. You should also be on the look out for Weezing’s Explosion, as it is will likely faint any target that doesn’t resist the move. However, Janine is the Gym Leader for the weakest competitive type in the franchise, plus her levels are lower and she’s not all that different from Koga, so you shouldn’t have any trouble against her. In particular, if you have any Steel-type Pokemon, none of Janine’s STAB moves can harm you, and her few non-STAB moves are all resisted. Rock-types also resist the bulk of Janine’s attacks and are strong against all of her Pokemon, except for Weezing, due to their secondary types, which incidentally remove Ground-type’s strength against Poison-type (even Weezing is safe, due to …

Brock is the first gym leader you will face off in the game. He uses Rock types. His Onix has a special move, Bide. If it uses Bide, avoid doing damage to it at all costs. Otherwise, after unleashing energy, it will payback with double the damage you did to it. It best to use moves that lower stats if your opponent is Biding. After you win, you will receive the Boulder Badge and a Tm34. Please rate and comment. Please subscribe.

TURN ANNOTATIONS ON. This is the very first official gym leader of Pokemon Monochrome/Sephia, a hack of pokemon red, made by yours truly, though I do not own pokemon. It is intended to be a more difficult hack with improved movepools of nearly every pokemon, and improved pokemon for gym leaders and elite 4 (not gary sadly, except in his first battle) Of course he uses rock types, but he can be (Very) hard if you don’t have the available pokemon you need (if you have ivysaur, you’ll be fine, provided omastar dies). Here’s what I intend to do.. I intend to have mew transform into every single pokemon the gym leader (or elite 4 member) to show of their moves, and attempt to defeat said gym leader. What you see there is the result of the final product. You will see all of the gym leader’s new pokemon. And yes, I am a pokemon stadium fan, I’m not gonna lie. Also, NO MOAR BIDE (except in the mart). I shall commentate via annotations.
