Las esculturas de la artista surrealista británica Leonora Carrington tomaron un tramo de una de las principales víаѕ de la ciudad, en una iniciativa del Gobierno de la Ciudad de Mexico, que pretende sacar el arte a la calle. La colección de 50 paneles luminosos con pinturas de la artista, fotos suyas y de su familia, y frases sobre su modo de ver la vida. Están acompañadas por 17 esculturas que forman la exposición “Leonora Carrington en la Ciudad de México” fueron realizadas entre 1994 y 2007 y miden desde 90 centímetros a 8,5 metros de altura, según informó el comisario de la exposición, Isaac Masri. Este proyecto de arte en espacios públicos estuvo situado en el neurálgico Paseo de Reforma, desde el Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Tamayo hasta el Museo de Antropología.
