By Robert Palmer Staff Writer A sculpture that will honor the music heritage of the Shoals is still looking for a home in Florence, and it appears a suitable site could soon be agreed upon. Singing River sculptures are being placed in Florence, Muscle Shoals, Sheffield and Tuscumbia as money is raised through private sources.

Downtown Salina is about to have its own outdoor sculpture garden. Nineteen sculptures chosen after a national competition will be unveiled beginning May 21. The pieces in the SculptureTour Salina project are the works of 10 artists.

STAMFORD — City residents bid goodbye Wednesday night to the colorful cats and dogs that have decorated downtown this summer. The auction of sculptures in the Downtown Special Services District ‘s “It’s Reigning Cats and Dogs” exhibit produced a large turnout for the fundraiser for local animal welfare agencies.
