igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic; changes will occur when they are subject to the conditions which formed the specific category of rock in the first place, over time

  • Mrs.McMahon says:

Igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic. Metamorphic rocks are formed from pre-existing rocks by adding heat and pressure. Sedimentary rocks form from the compaction and cementation of sediments of other rocks or living things. Igneous rocks are formed by the cooling of magma or lava. All can change to any other type by different processes (ex. melting/cooling, heat and pressure, weathering/erosion/cementation)

    3 types… igneous, sedimentary, metamorhpic

can change when introduced to water (erosion), high heat/ pressure (volcanos), or lack of heat (cooling).

It’s a very complex thing to say, so I’ll show you pic… at the jump below.

    Sedimentary, Igneous, Metamorphic

Sedimentary or Metamorphic can be melted to become Igneous, Igneous and Metamorphic can erode and form into Sedimentary rock and, Igneous and Sedimentary can be subject to pressure and twisted into Metamorphic.
